Slightly disappointed that my newly acquired (but second hand) V8s has Pirelli P Zeros on it.

Will definitely be looking to change to Michelin Pilot Sport 4s’s once the almost new Pirelli’s are done.

So, daft question.....how many miles of semi sensible (but fun) miles can I expect from a set of tyres?

I've never got more than 10k out of tyres on any previous Jaguar I've had (XK8, 4.2 XKR, 5.0 XKR). The F-type is too new to need new rubber yet. I'm amazed that people get 15K or more, they're obviously not trying hard enough.

From new, the rears lasted 9k. Must of been the fun period.

The car is nearly 3yrs old and done 18k now and I'm still on the set of original fronts although I'm below 3mm left, nearer to 2mm. The second set of rears are just below 4mm.

So will be looking for a full set ready for the summer I guess. Probably before first MOT at start of May. I'm quite happy with P-Zero (the new ones not the old ones) in the summer, warm and at correct PSI.

No question is daft...

On avarage, owners are getting around 13k on the OEM tyres.
If you're running RWD then the fronts will keep on going for around another 5k or so.

There's many variables of course; tracking, pressure, abuse etc, but the P0 do seem to last well for a GT/sports car.

Got 22k out of the rears on my V6. But they were down to less than 2mm. The last 4k were summer months though, as they were lethal in the wet much earlier. Really needed changing way before 3mm. Fronts, being 2wd, still had 4-5mm on them. As mentioned, it depends how they re used. Most of my miles were spent rolling along in traffic going to work, with a bit of hooning around at weekends.

We got 26k km's [ 16k miles ], of the rears , sparse abuse. Fronts are still on, like Tel suggests, good for another 5k, I agree.
