Morning all,

Noticed a few small stone chips I'd like to attend to. Colour is Salsa Red, but I can't find any online sites selling genuine touch-up paint. Lot's of items on ebay, but cautious of buying those as I'm not sure how good the colour match they'll be. Any recommendations\experiences to share?

Cheers

Graeme

Good Morning Graeme,
I bought both Firenze Red and Santorini black from the dealer I bought both cars from.
From memory, each was about £40 though the red was slightly less. Obviously, they are genuine and both packs contained 2 small bottles.

If you want genuine search: 'Jaguar Touch Up Paint - All Colours Available Select From List - C2A1051'
Salsa is listed for £19.99

Personally I've never purchased from a dealer. Remember that almost all repairs use some form of aftermarket paint and process from touch up, smart repairs to bodyshop

My red metallic (IRR) was a perfect match from Paints4u. The kit included some bud sticks for applying droplets to chips.

Paints 4 U are very good but if you want JLR check on e-bay as I bought mine on there and it's genuine Jaguar parts.
Seller is a dealership up Cambridge way I think so check the seller as dealers often knock out stuff on there.
Also the brushes these things come with are far too big for dealing with chips.
Buy some artists very fine brushes (5/0 or 10/0) and use those instead.

I find a toothpick dipped in the paint works well for small chips.
Agree the brushes supplied are useless.

Yep got mine from Paints 4 U, and agree toothpick works better than a brush.

Unless you have perfectly steady hands, I find buds, sticks, foam picks and brushes an absolute no-no for car touch ups.

I would use a small 1~3ml syringe and 24 guage needle... Its so easy to regulate and fill the offending area precisely.
