V6 service & MOT cost

My 2015/16 F Type V6 is due for its 5 year service & MOT in May at 30,500 miles.

I’ve been quoted a discounted price of £533.99 inc VAT which includes engine oil & filter with replacement of spark plugs which I’m told is scheduled on this service.

Taking into account from what I can see a set of plugs are around £100 do you think this is a fair price overall?

That’s sounds very reasonable. Main dealer?

fixed price servicing for f types over 3 years is£325 for a minor service and £385 for a major service, I assume this does not include the parts for additional service items.

edit; just checked, not including plugs.

They are a franchised Jaguar dealer and it’s where we originally purchased the car from, it’s also been serviced there since.
After getting a few quotes it would appear the price seems about right so I’ll probably stay with them.

Reading through the forum there seems to be different views regarding changing the spark plugs at low mileage (30k) but after 5 years I think it’s worthwhile.

Including plugs that sounds a good deal. I’ve had my looked after by main dealer for last three years. Last year should have been plugs, they didn’t mention this until I collected it & it would’ve been £400+ just for plugs. Yes, ridiculous but that’s main dealers. Some say plugs don’t need changing at these low mileages but, as you say, no harm done.

Possibly going to a recommended Jaguar independent this year. It’s only done 21k but I want everything doing,, including diff oil &, at Timbo’s suggestion, gearbox oil too. It’s a much cherished keeper so want to keep it tip top.

that is poor from a main dealer, if the service specified spark plugs as a service item it should have been done unless you had told them not to. also £400 extra for plugs is steep.

Not sure of others experience but 2 local dealers both told me that the F type is excluded from fixed price servicing

Regards spark plugs. I buy my own oem plugs and supply and dealers fit for free when doing a service. I ask for all checks like seatbelts and tyre pressure, plus cleaning to be left out and the dealer gives me a much reduced price. £300 last time. Plugs cost me £30 online from a dealer on eBay
At least I keep the stamp by doing all this

Jaguar use EMaC for their service plans.
You can contact them directly to get quotes for service plans. This saves dealers adding their own mark up.

Contact EMaC at info@emac.ltd.uk or alternatively call them on 0844 800 6826 although unsure on times (used to be Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm).

About to email them to see what they can do for mine. Looking for a 4th/5th/6th plan.

F Types are definitely included in the fixed price service.
I believe that the 5th year service is the small one so should be £325 so at £533, they are charging just over £200 for plug replacement!

Mine is also due its service in June and I keep getting an email from JLR to book the car in. I have booked online but no response, asked for call back but no response. Anyone else getting actual confirmation of a service date?
