I'm now seriously considering selling the car as I don't think I'll be able to enjoy just going for a drive anymore.

Kev,

C&M will be open soon, as will the usual meets. Imagine the first JBC after lockdown, the car park won’t be big enough! Good times are round the corner. Just hang on a bit longer. Tim & young David have been carbon dipping every piece of interior trim they can lever off. You will want to see them 👍

Also, as others mention, this is no time to sell.

Put some of your eurotrash music on & dream of days ahead ☀️ 😄

Ha ha Darren. Thanks.

I actually had a Winger album on very LOUD when "the incident" occurred. I was having far too much fun.

And thanks to all of you for your wise words.

These times are strange. Lots of people re-evaluating their lives & priorities right now. Also, with current improvements to air quality, etc, I do wonder about driving such a gas guzzler as a daily when we get back to "normal". I don't have money for 2 cars, hence why I'm considering selling.

I was caught by a van on the A64 last August - officially clocked at 98.

It took them until last week to finalise my fate

I originally plead guilty by post and thought I'd get a fine, etc. but then got a letter to attend court, but because of the Corona virus thing, the court date was being postponed until a later date.

I then got the final verdict in the post last week

I ended up with 6 points and a £750 fine.

Sounds like you got off reasonably lightly.

I don't fancy waiting best part of a year for my resolution. Also, I was caught doing 111 by a patrol car, not an anonymous van/camera.

What's done is done. In some respects the next steps are transactional, you pay the prescribed penalty and any loading on your insurance.

You'll be paranoid about watching your speedo for a while, which will subside (irrespective of whatever car you drive). So I'd wait until it's all over with and see how you're thinking then.

I'll go for a nice slow drive in the new forest with you at some future point. Max 40mph and lots of animals in the road so there's going to be no trouble. Alternatively you could be very eco friendly and get a horse. Do they have places to tie them up at Sainsbury's? 😆

yeah - It could quite easily have been a ban.

In all honesty, I think the 98 was low. I'm almost certain I was going faster (I wont say how much due to incrimination)

I didn't have my F-Type at that point, I was in my XF Sportbrake. Swapped it for the F-Type a month later...
