I feel for you Basher, there are some nice open bits on the A3.

I also feel somewhat disillusioned by the scale of payment for results that simpleR presents. It's not supposed to work like that. But hey-ho.

Gutted for you... Let the Audi,s and BMW fly past with a big smile on you face knowing they really want your car. Steady and cool allows them to admire our cars to the full. If you heavy foot set the speed limiter avoid speed creep which is so easy to do when roads are empty.

had a hairy situation today.

was driving to get groceries and minding my business, central london, empty roads. ferrari california and motorcycle come along and drive "spirited". i try to resist, but also started picking up pace when we stop at red lights together, but only really up to 30-35. we come to another red light, three lanes, blue vauxhall in the middle, we all line up left and right, lights turn green and we take off... turns out the vauxhall is a civilian police car, they flash the blue lights for a few secs, but fortunately not more than that, no one got stopped... got away with a "black eye" as we say in germany... lesson learned haha

Thanks all.

I'm now seriously considering selling the car as I don't think I'll be able to enjoy just going for a drive anymore.

Gave it a good wash this morning (my back is in agony again now!) but I sense it'll just sit unused on the drive for many more weeks before I drive again.

My office isn't opening before July so I have no need to drive.

Hmmm. 😥

Don't be too hasty - wait until you've got some facts to base your decision on. And you'll find it hard to get a replacement as good when you want another ... ;)

Kevin, agree with SCM, don't do anything in haste.
Cannot imagine how gutted you feel at present, but wait to see what happens and how you feel once you know a little more about what is the likely outcome.
Also now would be a really bad time valuation wise.

I think that if you were to sell the car you’d regret it soon afterwards!

If I were you, although I’d be really peed off, I’d wait to see what happens? Quite often in life, things don’t turn out as bad as first thought.

In the meantime (unless you’re health doesn't permit or you're not legally allowed to do so) I see no reason why you can’t take the car out for a spin to get some enjoyment from it, but try to stick within the speed limit (easier said than done) ;)
