AUC prices.....any room for manoeuvre?

Hi. Has anyone recently bought a AUC car? Was there any room for manoeuvre on the list price or was it fixed? Just wondering how the Covid situation has effected the AUC market. I am looking to buy a car in the next few weeks and would be grateful for any recent experiences.

I bought last year, and was absolutely no movement at all. Whether that’s representative or not I don’t know, but ultimately I didn’t care as it was the only car I’d seen in months that was the perfect spec.

I bought auc and negotiated 2.5 k off and got them to carry out the next service which wasn't due for 3 months, also got them to update navigation to latest mapping. If you are in the market to buy dealers will be falling over themselves to shift stock after the closedown. I would walk away if the dealer wasn't prepared to negotiate, trust me they will budge.

I got mine in April when most dealers were closed, but a few were keen to sell, only 2 dealers were keen enough to budge on price and have the car to me quickly. Extras like a service, better finance terms and leeway in PX values helped sweeten the deal. I was very happy.
I think the position now might be slightly different, but they must all be keen to shift stock. I have kept an eye on prices since and have not seen them drop, despite the addition of the facelifted 20 plate cars appearing now as used. Even used, these cars are at the luxury end of the market and I would have expected demand to be quite low; on the other hand some people whose incomes haven’t been hit might now have some unexpected savings built up and could keep prices up.
