Was photography allowed? They're usually pretty hot on "no pics" at events I've attended in the past ...

No issue with photos provided they are not used for commercial use.
However the driving is so full on for the time you are there, you cannot really get photos of any action apart from possibly the skid pan.
Main issue for JLR is that there are also development cars using the track sometimes.
We had one of the D Type new builds going around.

Red is the colour which is far more forgiving of the new style the darker colours seem to make the bonnet even bigger.
I agree nothing grabbed me apart from the red. Although there were a few yellow on site.

I'm up there in a couple of weeks, Covid regulations permitting, can anyone let me know if spectators can attend and if so, what the facilities are like?

Thanks

Blimey, I nearly missed this - thought from the title it was just a local gathering!

Booked for Sunday 11th October and fingers crossed that it goes ahead - sounds a great day.

...would also be interested to know if a passenger can go along to spectate.

One person had a guest with them. I think there is a part of the entry request that allows you to book a guest in also.
If you look at my photos, you can see what facilities are there. A few seats and benches.
Otherwise try to book your guest in on the same day to drive....much better than watching as you really can only see the skid pan from the seating area.

Sounds like a plan 👍🏻

The confirmation says 1 in party but I didn’t see an option to add anyone when booking.

I did ask when I was there last week as one other person arrived with spouse. They would usually offer a second person but they are trying to keep it to drivers only due to covid and keeping everything sanitised.
There is a phone number in one of the confirmation e-mails. You could call that number beforehand to see if they are happy to accommodate a spectator.
All the activities though are remote from the main start / finish area except for the skid pan.
