Mine is the same. It’s 6 years old, 34k miles. Because it’s such a sleek car, it’s difficult to get in and out of, so this is inevitable.

It’s actually very easy to repair, kits are available to resurface the leather.

@Gareth
Would you have a link for such a kit ? Did you try / consider swapping left/right covers ?

IME most sports seats with large side bolsters suffer from this to one degree or another (and I'm making no comment about the OP's issue or whether the F-Type bolsters wear any differently to other cars). Generally, it's the sliding in and out but sometimes it's the seat belt.

Whatever the cause and whatever the car, I'm surprised that no-one has come up with an after-market "bolster protector" as I'm sure there'd be a market. I'd buy one. Something like a small piece of shaped fabric (alcantara or faux leather maybe?) that can somehow be held in place over that particular piece of the bolster.

It might look naff - but then, so do worn bolsters....but these can be removed at sale time.

I know, it's a dumb idea. Glad I didn't book my slot on Dragon's Den :-)

Not to hand, but they are out there. We had our leather sofa repaired by a chap who said the materials were readily available.

I’m not going to swap covers, I’ll probably cause more damage doing that!

If I come across a link I’ll post it.

I won't either. For me new covers are ordered (guarantee), but they have to be made new. Old model seat and old type of upholstery.
Even finding out the price is not easy. Dealer says they don't know. I would like to know for if its badly damaged in a few years
and needs replacing again. I could then let them swap the covers left/right also.

A local upholstery shop [ mostly automotive] can make them to measure in any type of leather I want. Seats only around € 1200 fitted,
average priced leather. But it will not wear like the leatherette. He gives a 5 yr guarantee on it, max 100.000km .

The guy did a lot of odd jobs for me, bolsters or lumbar supports, last a fill-in foam to raise the window armrest on the drivers door of the F-Pace,
invisible if you don't know : looks original.. :mrgreen:

left is factory, right is adjusted..
