Just completed the SORN declaration for the first time as I found in previous years that winter use is no fun.
It's either wet or grimey roads that are really slippery or cold and clear with loads of salt on the roads.
My car lives outside under a Jaguar cover, is it OK for 4 months with the handbrake on or should I leave this off. Should I put in on blocks with the tyres off the ground or does this not matter. Never had any problems with battery issues so no trickle charger planned.

I would leave the handbrake off and inflate the tyres to 45psi. Battery might need a boost after a couple of months, but you could run the engine for half an hour to do that whilst stationary.

Maybe worth putting a couple of moisture traps in the car and boot.
