Hi All
Just thought I would report on my recent 5 year service, done £27K miles. Mine since July 2020.
Used a specialist in Bury Saint Edmunds, very good.
Major Service
Castrol oil and filter, Air Filters, Pollen Filters, Spark Plugs, Rear Differential Fluid change, £617

Issues
O/S Cam shaft sensor wiring chaffed to the metal, repaired.
Bolts on left bank seized - due to possible pressure washer detergent, freed up / replaced.
rear pads 75% worn.
Front disk rusty on inside (lack of use)
Question does anyone know if the bonnet louvres can be covered when you wash, is there anything out there to do this ?

Many thanks

Si

Could always lay a sheet of plastic film - like a dust cover sheet - over the engine bay before washing? Obviously makes washing a bit more of a faff but should keep a lot of the water out of harms way.

With regards "bolts on left bank", which bolts were they out of interest? Is those the ones you think have seized due to water getting in when washing?

They said bolts that hold the coil packs in, which had to be removed to do the spark plugs, great idea about the plastic sheet on top of the engine.

thanks

I know a lot on this forum are fair weather drivers, but I think the cars are designed to be able to be left out in the rain! I suggest just don't play a hose for long in that area.

It's not an issue on the AWD models as the vents are further down the bonnet and there are covers over the front shock mounts to protect them.

Same on the MY21 models, the vents are near the front of the bonnet, so I don't think it's going to cause a problem in those cases.

Hi M21ENO
Yes it was Tim Revetts, very knowledgeable and seemed like descent guys. They didn't even charge me to free up the seized bolts. In this area its either Jagutek in Ely or Jaguar at Marshalls Cambridge, but I have seen bad reviews from Marshalls and pay a lot for it. Its 35 miles each way for me to Tim Revetts but worth it. You don't get the flash premises or free coffee but you also get half the bill you would get from Marshalls. Also I am after someone I can trust to look after the Jag, Tim Revetts has excellent reviews. I will be going back next year.
