Keep looking. The spec you want is reasonable and suitable ones will pop up quite frequently. I bought mine this time last year, which was one of 3 i planned to view with the right spec. Keep looking, you have a healthy budget and are right to ask peoples opinion on here.

When I did get mine, it was worth the wait. They are beautiful and drive really well.

right, now i've started to look at a v8, i'd push budget to around 45k max, if i find a car without the rear fixed spoiler, how hard is it to have this change for one and where would i go for it, costs etc..

Unless you're looking at SVRs, I'd think the challenge would be to find one with the fixed rear spoiler. MIne came with the non-SVR fixed spoiler and I love it - it looks great all the time - the deployable one (another thing to go wrong!) IMO looks a bit naff when it's raised.

yep, love the look with the fixed spoiler but like you say, going to be hard to find, just missed out on a red one.

There's a thread on the US forum with an attachment that describes how to fit a fixed rear spoiler (section 3 in the file) ...

Depends on the age, but mainly how well it's been looked after. A car that's lived most of its life in a garage could well be in worse condition than one that's been used and cared for - they're designed to be driven! I've had an XKR that had done over 90,000 miles and that was nice and reliable, apart from one burst oil pipe - the engine ran fine after the pipe was replace and the oil replaced (my indy was surprised and impressed!).

Buy on specification and condition.
