any consensus on here ? anyone got independent warranty and is it as good/better?

I went for the extra year, just in case of issues - after that, depending on how the year goes (driving-wise!), I'll just pay my local trusted independent to keep it running, as he did with my three previous Jags.

I lived just down the road until a few weeks ago in Shenstone. No Indy I’m aware of, but used AME of Shenstone for the last 20 years for all my cars. MOT’s too and his son In the next bay runs a top end tyre specialist and Hunter alignment centre.
Ironically I used the local JLR for all my services as they proved to be excellent and at Indy prices as I pick and choose what I want servicing and they mark the service accordingly

Just an update on warranty - JLR warranty just called me and asked if I am renewing - have a week left to decide

Has anyone ever negotiated the price with JLR warranty or just took the price quoted at face value?

I have just renewed my warrant with Jaguar. The interesting piece is the MOT insurance that comes with the warranty. If car goes once a year for service and MOT it appear's resonable as the MOT insurance covers all parts that main warranty does not. I.e discs, bulbs, cv boots, shock absorbers and the list goes on (page 22 and 23 of warranty book). However it does not cover mot advisory's. In theory if you are on 5 year service plan and have warranty you are fairly well covered.

I am in the same boat and to renew gone up to £971 with the assistance. Also have to work out servicing as 4 year due end March with MOT. £760 odd with Jaguar. My Jaguar warranty was £697 (purchased last week) without recovery as I have AA for other cars and bikes. £971 is expensive!
