So = the swop was easy enough...
1) Use a thin flat-bladed screwdriver to remove the old housing from the glove-compartment moulding.
2) Disconnect the four cables from the back of the unit.
3) Had to dismantle and cut up the old housing to get the Cigarette lighter section out; and then trim it with a knife to get it back into the new one
4) Four cables back in - and slid back into place.

But the SD card still not recognised! :-(

Hi Mikeyf,

I was supplied with a new card when they replaced the interface, I am not sure if they are coupled to each interface or not, or some coding is required hopefully not.
Maybe someone here should be able to offer some guidance.

I have had a look at paperwork and card, image attached but no part numbers on it, other than the one on sd card.

Each SD Card is tied to the VIN Number - so buying a second hand chip will never work...

Also ordered a replacement - anyone know the knack of fitting these? Are they clip out and replace attached wires or will it need a ‘specialist’

See further up - 5-10 min job; no special tools needed.

Update on my card; for no apparent reason the card is now being acknowledged; and has worked successfully for 2 hours now... no idea why
Did find a very nice man on ebay who supplies new cards and can licence them for you: Search on eBay for a seller called "galicja_uk" - person called Andy; very helpful!
