Occasionally I go to the We Buy Any Car site and I am amazed to find that they are offering about a £5000 increase on that previously offered in January - is there a shortage of used ones on the market?

I also do an occasional WBAC and Autotrader review to benchmark.

From the AT prices, it seems like mine (2017 V6 coupe) hasn't depreciated much at all over the last year.

WBAC valuation does tend to fluctuate by about 3-4k depending on the month.

I have been watching prices since last November, particularly V6 models and haven't seen much of a decline if any at all.

It is probably a temporary blip caused by Covid buying frenzy and the shortage of new cars because of Covid and chip supply problems
When there are fewer new cars to sell, there are fewer trade-ins for the used market.
The moral is: sell now - buy later!! But you ight have to wait a while!!

I'm hanging on to mine - I didn't buy it as an investment, it's a toy to be enjoyed!

Interesting timing. Prices have certainly risen 2-3k in the last 3 months or so. As mentioned above, it certainly feels like a temporary blip with all the money sloshing around. Time will tell.

They'll go up again in 2025 when Jaguar stops making ICE vehicles. Thatt'll be a sad day too, though, so swings and roundabouts.

Same in Australia, I saw an F-Type 2.0 litres start at a touch over $100K sit for while, drop into the 90’s still sit, recently they increased it to near $110k and not long after was sold.
