My baby is reaching three years old.

On previous vehicles for which I received a car allowanced, though meagre, I've paid up to £1k per year for peace of mind.

However, as a new retiree and not using a vehicle for business anymore, is the consensus that the warranty @ £781 inc recovery assistance is a worthwhile investment.

Generally is it cheaper than having to pay for a repair etc.

Hello

I have just extended mine for the 4th year for our F Type ... Jag warranty, personally I would not be without it for my Jag you would probably use it once and would pay for itself. Plus I get breakdown assist and MOT cover .. plus I have retired last June and I think it’s worth the cost .. I went for the top cover extended cover

Regards

This is timely, mine's due in a month, for the 5th year. I'm in two minds about it - the car seems pretty reliable and a grand is a lot to pay for a peaceful mind. Unless something major fails that costs more than a grand, of course! Decisions ....

I top up savings in my bank account against shelling out up front. Yes it’s a gamble but hoping something goes wrong, so I can say I’ve saved some money, seems odd to me.

My use is limited, another factor in my decision. A daily driver might be different.

I'm the exact opposite and already had thousands of pounds of repairs under warranty so it's already paid for its self so I've just renewed mine at 4 yrs old and 29k miles for peace of mind as its just about to go for 4th service and mot.

Just in the process of renewing mine for end July.
Looked around and the best other option still came in around £800 with any reasonable labour rate and without assist, so am going to go with the JLR full extended warranty.
Still peeves me it's far more expensive than my Porsche Macan's full warranty😡

Mine expires too next month, so I will be renewing. Like SimpleR, mine's a daily driver, albeit I'm still WFH for the foreseeable. 🙄

Had 2 years with Used Approved, so just on my 3rd paid year now - always done 10 monthly payments as you have the option of cancelling at any time if no longer needed (stolen / written off).
Even after 3 paid years of highest cover option I reckon I’m still over £15k in credit 😳😬
