Hi all, does anyone know when JLR started building the re-designed MY21 cars? I just got my TOPix printout for my MY20 and the build date for mine was 4 Feb 20, I thought they had already started building MY21 by then?

Thanks! Now I’m confused as TOPix shows my car build date as 4 Feb! :?:

I think there may be plenty of errors? Somewhere it says our car is a 5l v8

Confidence building isn't it?!

Firstly it depends on the model, 2ltr, v8 etc. There is no actual fixed date. My own car rolled off production line 19th Feb 18 and is a MY18.5. The change over is between late Jan to end of Feb. Not many customers ask the model year? However it obvious if the nose has changed. As long as you got what you paid for.

I got exactly what I ordered and am very happy with it, just interested as I may have one of last ever RHD V6’s. I had previously thought my car was built late 2019 as the order went in mid Oct 19 when JLR called last orders for ‘old’ versions. I had arranged to collect it mid March and had assumed that it had sat for a few months before I collected it. If the build date is as stated on TOPix then they must have still been building old versions alongside newer ones which sounds very odd.

Correct, it only stock cars that sit around, you could order one now for next Mar and it will not be built until Feb. They don't want to risk of your car sitting about.

V6's carried on a little while longer until all orders were processed and completed through to end of Feb 2020. I'll try and find the last v6 off the line tomorrow.

I stand to be corrected, but don't recall seeing any old models on the production line during my late Jan tour, though plenty of v6 engines for the north American market
