Hi Folks I'm new to the forum having purchased a 2014 F Type V6 40k miles, just over two years ago. Everything been fine up to now, but after travelling for about 10 miles she starts to run very rough and the check engine light comes on. However if I leave her parked up for an hour or two everything is fine again for a few miles then we start with the rough running again. I've changed plugs and coil packs any other suggestions. Many thanks in advance Geoff

Sounds like an injector playing up maybe. Or could be a pre/post cat sensor.
Any soot / smell from exhaust on idle?
Certainly something to get checked out before you do more miles.
Engine codes should give a good idea of the problem.

I had a failed injector on my 2013 V6 which was OK when cold, but failed after 5 miles. I had it changed and the garage said that they are piazo electric solenoids which crack and are OK when cold but stop working when they are hot. The fault was identified using the fault code computer at one garage, but on that cylinder (no4) the injector was stuck in the head and I had to go to a specialist garage to get it removed at £700.
First step get fault code read!

Thanks for the help guys... Have been waiting for the fault to reappear but code reader says this aren't any problems now and I just had her out for a 50 mile run without any issues, so it's very odd. I'll keep an eye on it and see if I can get a read again in a few days.. appreciate the suggestions everyone.

Have you changed your fuel supplier recently?

Hi no I'm not that selective usually, I often just top up at Asda when I do the shopping these days, do you think it makes a difference

Well, if the problem arose just after you filled up then the fuel could be considered a suspect. Unlikely but possible. I always use "posh" Shell - because she's worth it!

I do not think fuel quality varies much these days. It mostly comes from the same sources and brand names simply add various cleaning agents etc to make claims about being "better".
If you had a fuel problem it would most likely show up as diffficult starting, or immediately upon driving, not after the engine heats up. Have you had the OBD scanned yet?
It seems like it should be the next step.

Many thanks for all the help guys. I ended up replacing the plugs and coil packs and used a injector cleaner which seems to have cleared the issue. Again really appreciate the comments all the best Geoff
