Normal exhaust (early cars) = no valves, Active exhaust = valves, Switchable active exhaust = valves + button 👍🏻

Exactly!
For £300 it must just be a button not a system.
Think we’ve established it just gives the ability to control rather than just have it off in comfort and on in dynamic.
But the sound is the same. Concern was you were missing out without it.

As we are on the subject I assume the sound is muted since the 2019 emission laws?

2019 cars onwards have a gasoline particulate filter in the cat housing and are quieter, they get better with use.

Hi guys, does the exhaust being open (when not using dynamic mode) use more fuel?

I have pulled fuse 15 out so my exhaust is permanently open. It makes no difference to the fuel consumption.
