When I purchased my F type the “in control app” came with the car and now I am being asked to renew it for £36 for a year or £57.60 for 2yrs. Does anyone know if I do not renew it early will they come back with a reduced subscription or is there any better apps around. With this one sometimes it is a bit slow to update information. Some reviews state that the new versions are not as good as an earlier one so any feed back would help. Security is important and the above price is fine if the app worked 100% efficiently.

I'd be very surprised if they come back with a lower offer. If you haven't renewed by the appropriate date, you've lost your chance to renew. I had no follow up from my warranty renewal, which I declined.

I let mine lapse, then renewed it after a year or so. Same price.

I took it out when I bought my f type second hand so you can renew anytime if you want to.

Thanks for the clarification - I'd assumed (foolish, I know!) that the renewal was on the same basis as their warranties.

Yeah, that's how I did mine. I went for the Secure and Protect options, too.

Scm I would say I was unable to choose the secure and protect option something to do with the original options chosen by the first owner I think, not really sure I just know it wasn't available on my car.

It's a fair price, you are basically paying for the SIM card data contract in the car
