My V6 is now 6 years old. By now I would normally be replacing it, but..... I still like it a lot. It’s only done 35,000 miles, has run faultlessly, and they don’t make the V6 any more. It’s only worth around £18,000, but I’m told it’s stopped depreciating.
When it was three years old there was a minor fault with the finish of the wheels, and the dealer agreed to repaint under warranty, and would I like a change of colour? I chose satin black, and while they were at it, I asked them to repaint the b/callipers yellow. It completely changed the look of the car. Many friends even thought it was a new one!
Three years later, I’m now thinking I’ll keep the car a bit longer, but have the wheels and the callipers repainted a different colour. To have the wheels stove enamelled, the callipers painted and the small round centre pieces replaced with red ones would cost about £500. But I can’t make up my mind what colour would suit the car best.
The car is Italian Racing Red. And suggestions would be welcome?

If you have black pack - black wheels
If you have Chrome - then Silver wheels

Mikeyf sums it up nicely & C10jeeps mentioned a few years ago about keeping to a theme when ‘modding’ your car. Try not to introduce additional colours where possible. For example, your car is IRR so avoid painting the calipers a different shade of red.

Personally, if black packed I’d go Gloss black wheels with either gloss black calipers or IRR. Chrome trim then chrome wheels with IRR calipers.

Wow 18k sounds a bit low?

I have a caldera red with silver wheels and I’m strongly considering changing to black or a gunmetal grey

My preference is black on IRR.
It will be worth a lot more than £18k.

Hi Bob. I traded in my 65 plate V6 340 about a month ago and got £26,700, the dealer was aiming to sell for £31k , so your car is definitely worth more than£18k.

I had the chrome wrapped black (£200) but I didn't want black wheels, so I went with anthracite grey gloss. Pictures in the attached thread.

Thanks for all the advise.
You’ve now got me thinking, maybe I should leave the wheels black, and go for a black pack?
Can anyone please tell me what’s involved, the cost, and can you recommend someone to do the work?
(I live on the south coast, between Southampton and Bournemouth.)

Had my window surrounds & side vents swooped from chrome to gloss black. Jaguar main dealer did it OEM which was expensive (£1700.00) but permanent. Wrapping is a cheaper alternative 👍

I had mine dechromed by Sean at Xtreme signs near Gatwick. Everything done in situ on the car, nothing removed. You could see a very thin slither of chrome on the bottom edge of the door trim under the mirrors as this is hard to cut in safely, but you'd have to get down low and really look for it.

Sean has done quite a few F types. He had one recently that needed a badly applied wrap removed (a pig to get off too apparently) before ppf going on. He specialises in cars, but they do everything from trucks to aircraft in the other side of the business
