I’m assuming to have access to the OSH you have to meet a certain criteria serviced in line with schedule, correct parts etc
For my first service (in ownership) I plan to use JLR and original supplying dealer.
If all aspects of the service (including meet and greet are not up to my expectations I will take my custom elsewhere.
We don’t owe them a living
If your car is serviced by any garage (call it an Indy, specialist, non JLR, etc. seemingly so long as vat registered) broadly in line with the service schedule, you can have your service history updated by JLR to the OSR.
They will also annotate with anything else done out of schedule, such as brake fluid change
I do this now on both my F Type and RR Evoque with a simple email and attached service sheet and invoice.

Easy to print a nice sheet of stamped services :)

I've had main dealer for first 4 years of car but think I am going to switch to Indie for year 5 which was due in March but only done 1800 miles since last service so will probably book Indie in May

I haven't had many a good experiences with a main dealer (regardless which make) but thought i would try my local Jaguar. Had an awful experience. (See below) Unfortunately I haven't found a good Jaguar independent near me yet (Preston) but I am still in the process of looking...They can't be any worse then Inchcape! :?

Soooo my F-Type was due a minor service before Christmas and after looking on the website I saw that they had a "Winter Service" offer on which covered much more (See below) then my minor service and had a £750 MOT warranty cover included for not much more money. So after confirming with the dealer that I the winter service would be good enough to replace the 80,000 mile minor service I pulled the trigger and got it booked in.

So far so good. The cars was dropped off in the morning and I picked it up in the afternoon. It was only when I was going through the paperwork in more detail I realised they had only done an oil & filter change, a "Pre winter" check and a eVHC. I later confirmed this by checking my online service history.

They didn't even log it as a service so on the home page I have 2 outstanding warnings...

I contacted the dealer letting them know that they had missed half of the items off the winter service (Mainly the brake fluid change) and the fact that they hadn't classed it as a service and they said they were not sure why the items were missed off but they would get it back in and sort it out. OK fine. I accept that mistakes happen. as log as they are willing to fix the issue I am willing to let it slide.

The car goes back in for the second time. They collected it and dropped it off this time. The paperwork looked better this time round however there is a note saying that they couldn't update the online service history and have ask Jaguar to do it for them....This I found odd but ok I'll leave it for a few days and see what happens. on the 3rd day I get a phone call asking how my service went and I explained that the online service history hadn't been completed yet and the response was " ok thanks for your feedback" and then the phone went dead! Wasn't interested about resolving it...

I phoned the dealer the day after and asked them to look into it and again they apologised and said the will look into it....I heard nothing back. Another week passes and I send an email to the aftersales advisor. I got a quick email saying she apologised that it hadn't been done and added her manager to the email...8 days later I have still not heard anything so I have just fired another email off chasing it up.

Its coming up to 2 months since the car originally went in for its service and its still not sorted and I'm so sick of chasing this up. Rant over!! :x

Preston is my local main dealer too - used for warranty work on heated seat. Did get it sorted but took a bit of bullying from me that it wasn’t right before they agreed
Has anybody tried Preston Jag Centre ?
Will be looking for a service later in year - might just stick to our usual guy - he’s a Merc specialist but looked after our BM

My dad tried Preston Jag Centre and wasn't impressed. If I remember rightly he took it in for an MOT and they had put underseal on the car and then tried to charge him for it even though he didn't ask for it.

Anyone looking for an indie in the Reading area then highly recommend these guys, they cover Berkshire, Hampshire & Surrey.

Had my annual service today all in inc vat at £291 - car spotlessly cleaned and they collected and dropped back in same day!

Jaguar Reading quoted me £708 for the same service and no collection.
