Just had my V6S MY 2016 serviced at a Jaguar Dealer and they have advised they recommend a fuel treatment.

Rather than pay ridiculous amounts for the dealer to do it does anyone know which fuel treatment Jaguar recommend.

I presume it's probably an injector cleaner, but will a Redex or Wynns standard injector cleaner do, or is there something specific for the F Type?

Thanks
Mike

Interesting. Did they give a reason for this?

Once opted for an ‘engine flush’. This was at a main dealer as part of a routine service. Funny thing is it has never been suggested since 🤷‍♂️

Hi, In what context did they advise you?

Have you had any issues with the engine or injectors?
Have they advised you as a preventative measure?
Has it been mentioned incase you’re using standard fuel (or now E10) as opposed to super unleaded E5?

I thought (maybe wrong) that the manual advises not to add anything in which case could void a warranty.

It was typed in at the bottom of the health report. Last box - General Observations, Report & Recommendations. "Fuel Treatment"
Hours were quoted as 0.10 plus cost of additive.
No previous issues with injectors or engine. It's done 27,500 miles and I only put E5 in it.

Nothing beats a good thrash (high revs WOT) and 0% BioEth Petrol (Certain Esso Advance fuel stations).

Higher the PEA content the better. My tipple is:

Don't know about fuel but I have engine oil flush every time, the oil ways are so small would easily get blocked and cost less than a tenner

My dealer includes an injector cleaner in every second service. That's given my current mileage and for higher mileage they do it at every service. I think they use BG44K or something similar.

Not sure if it's really needed since we only have good petrol around here and I feed it with 98 octane petrol like 99% of the time. Doesn't cost much though (some 20€) and hopefully reduces the risk of any injector issues. I guess it makes even more sense for owners who use dodgy fuel or don't treat/drive the car properly.

When I had my diesel XFS ages ago, the dealer I used at the time also included some engine or injector cleaner with every service.
