Hi all,

So after removing all rear braces and getting shot blasted, refinished, treating subframe etc….I started the reinstall earlier today.

The 6 x Main M12 bolts on the k-brace, all with new bolts ordered from JLR a few weeks ago.

Slowly slowly up to 133nm as per workshop info on topix and as confirmed on here in various topics.

5 bolts fine, 6th bolt up to around 120nm and BANG!……bloody bolt fails.

VERY luckily, the bolt had not snapped so I was able to remove. I had bought 8 bolts so had a spare and that went in fine (phew!)…see bolt pic below!

In a panic, I wondered if my torque wrench was buggered?……so knowing the wheel nuts were torqued to 125nm a few weeks ago, I set the torque on the wrench I had been using to 125nm and luckily it “clicked” on the wheel nut…so torque wrench ok.

Must have been a bad bolt? But I will pass by Jaguar dealer where I ordered bolts and show them.

ANYWAY…….just exhaust and bumper trim to do on Sat so here are few pics

Ps - I had a broken exhaust valve spindle, but contacted Mod-Stock. They were in my area on Thursday so brought a replacement back box down with new stainless butterfly valves fitted…and a huge saving over the £2279 JLR WOULD CHARGE!

Cheers to all
