Anyone else experiencing crazy renewal prices?

My current insurance company wants to double my price, and on compare sites it's not much better at all

I've not moved, I'm an old man in my 40's and have 13 years no claims

I think life is like the Red Bull soap box races. You can be going down hill very nicely, all in control and getting faster, until you hit the big jump they always build in. Too often that’s when the wheels come off…
I’ve just taken off at the big jump at 60+, recently retired, etc. I’ll let you know how the landing goes

I took late retirement 6 years ago. The landing is fine.
