Just added a Gadlane tyre plug repair kit to my emergency stash. Off eBay about £20.00. Very popular in US.
I also carry the foam plus a Makita 18V DMP180Z Cordless Inflator. Magic bit of kit & saves checking tyre pressures at a garage.

Jump leads, warning triangle, tie-wraps, hi-vis vest/jacket.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with the oil or water.
IMO, the most likely problem you'll encounter will be a puncture.
Depending on where you intend going in Scotland, I'd also pre-book accommodation. It can be scarce farther North. (Guess how I know )
