They really need vaseline or grease on them or they will get stuck.

My daughter had some on her Mazda and one was completely stuck. Even after slicing it in half vertically using a junior hacksaw blade, one half remained welded to the threads and needed to be prized off. Horrible things! Galvanitic corrosion is amazingly strong.

On my XE a metal one fused to the tyre valve and I ended up buying a new tyre. Just use the black plastic as the pressure monitor works perfectly with them. I also had a few sets removed in carparks!
