Hi All,

Just got my car back from the specialist after having the water pump changed as it was leaking. I asked him to take a look at the supercharger pulley as I could hear a little rattle and he has confirmed the supercharger coupler has failed (spring no longer tight). It's a 2016 V6S with 27,000 miles on it so for it to fail so soon I am a little disappointed to say the least. I am going to try and claim on my RAC warranty for it as I don't think they can say that a internal supercharger component (especially a spring) is a wear and tear item, let alone at 27k miles. Do the new couplers from jag come upgraded in anyway from their older counterparts? I have been steered away from the solid ones by the independent specialist (I can't remember the reason now) but I don't want to have the same thing happen in 2/3 years time?

Thanks!

How much were you quoted to have it replaced? Keep us posted on how you get on with RAC. Good luck.

Parts and labour were £1200 with the independent specialist.
