Good MOT history though - up until the filming.

I thought they might have borrowed some bits off the P300 rally car, but no, even the spotlight pod looks different.

“The story began earlier this year in Mauritania. I had gone there to film a Grand Tour special, and the crew were extremely surprised when I turned up with a Jaguar F-Type convertible. Though when I say
"surprised", what I mean is "rendered helpless with mirth". They all said that in the Sahara Desert the Jag would simply disassemble itself and that I'd become a vulture's breakfast. They were wrong. I shan't spoil the story, but even though the Jag had 70,000 miles on the clock, not one thing went wrong, fell off or broke.“

Just a leg pull there - I think mono-uk was referring to the fact that some people have experience issues with the locking diffs on some F-Type models and that it’s wise to change the diff oil more frequently than Jaguar recommend.

The same goes for the transmission oil - Jag say it’s fine for 10 years / 160k miles, but the box manufacturer ZF recommends the change at 80k miles.

My car has an open diff, so isn’t affected by the issue some experience, but I certainly got the transmission oil and filter/pan changed early for peace of mind.

These things come about as Jag prefer to push intervals out to make the initial years’ service costs more palatable - knowing that, by the time the car gets to 10 years old it won’t be a warranty cost for them.

Thanks for the very thorough response, All makes sense.

Regarding the ZF box, what other car makes/models are these on apart from the LRG?
