Yes it is a lovely part of the country, been up here 22 years now, originally from Essex. Would be up for a meet next year when the weather improves.
Steve.

Kaspa, another forum I'm part of has a yearly meet in Oban, and we have guys drive for 13-17 hours just for a weekend on the water with their small boats........

I would be up for a meet.
Word of caution on the NC500, done it last year and though it would be a glamorous road trip, how wrong, seen a couple of Porsche 911’s, the rest was mobile homes travelling in convoy. Didn’t matter that I had 575PS under my right foot, when your committed to single track road at 10 to 20 mphs, where they refuse to pull in and let you pass, you certainly get to see the scenery, be warned.

I think you must have been unlucky. Check out my write-up and gallery from the NC500 here: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1872

Found the vast majority of people pulled over to let us by and had a great time. No mobile homes held us up.
