I also tried this last night and whilst there was a degree of excitement as I was catapulted towards the horizon there was nothing displayed about launch control.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the transmission was optimised in such a way that although there is no launch control on the v8 it will always balance grip and power to ensure the getaway is as fast/clean as possible.

If you want proper launch control borrow a Nissan GTR...

I assume its a gimmick anyway ; with al the electronics on board one can hardly go wrong by flooring the throttle from stationary..
Some weeks ago I almost missed a curve doing 110kmh on a country lane. No time to brake , just steer... A brief shudder of vector
control and some breaks slightly helping, no drama, just go... Brilliant !

It did slide over all fours...

I find using both Sport and a Dynamic together a bit too lairy unless I’m seeing off an M3 or similar, so I tend to drive a lot in just Dynamic in D not Sport as Dynamic sharpens it up a lot on it’s own and opens the baffles as well...

Anyone else drive this way?

Sport makes it semi manual ; gearchanges are your option.

Yes agreed Dan, but for normal driving I tend to leave it in Dynamic now instead of just Drive as it’s a whole lot more fun, gear changes are sharper and even tickover sounds meaner, whereas before I would normally drive in D around town,

I tend to use sport on open country roads, btw just came back from Pitlochry was an amazing drive, the Cheetah speed camera detector spotted all the average speed cameras was worth every penny.

Hmm.. ..interesting. This Cheetah is not illegal ? In Germany and Netherlands they confiscate your car if caught...

You can use the paddles in D with or without Dymanic mode if you've configured the car that way. One thing Sport gives you is the ability to shift with the stick as well as the paddles. And in Sport manual mode the car won't upshift for you, or return to auto mode after several seconds of gear shift inactivity.

I’m told speed camera detectors are still legal to use in the U.K. at the moment

https://www.speedcamerasuk.com/speed-ca ... -legal.htm

But you are correct in other countries it is an offence to use one
