F Type No Longer Available to Order

Going on to the configurator it now says all F Types must be ordered from available stock only.

I guess they have stopped taking orders for all models as they get ready for the facelift.

My order is in the queue so unaffected - I just hope I've made the right decision not to wait for the newer one!

I guess it’s normal but I would have liked to have seen the un camouflaged version before committing.

If the facelift is the reason for this & I had one in the queue, I would be cancelling it as the value will plummet even faster, when the new one appears.
Get in the queue for the new one ;)

You’re probably right but from what I’ve seen of the facelift I don’t like it as much. Also, there’s been no sign of a V6 so it might be replaced with the inline 6 which is turbocharged - I’d much prefer supercharged power. The fact is I really like the current P380 and I don’t want to risk it! It’s planned to be a keeper too so depreciation isn’t so much of a factor.

I guess I’ll find out whether I’ve gone the right way soon enough.

Experience - the thing you get just after you needed it!

I don't know anything about the facelift model, but the main thing is for you to get the one you want, not the one others try to get you into. Enjoy your car when it comes :)

That's the plan! I've been waiting for years, literally! Delivery date can't come quick enough :-)

Hi Gus,

Stick with your order. The "XE-lights" do not suit with the rest of the F-Type body.
It makes it look like a Mustang I've read somewhere.

I can still order. Just made a manual V6 in standard BRG... ..

..and check-out the price we have to pay...

It seems a bit strange to me to end one model before the next one is ready to order.
If someone doesn't want one off the shelf and wants to have a bespoke one then they are out of luck.
Imagine the conversation with sales when they are told they can't order the current model and then to be told they can't order the new version.
Exit to a different marque's dealership I think.

For those interested I found some bumf on the new Ingenium straight six.
Electrically driven supercharger and a turbo.
Variable valve timing as per the current P300 too.

Since I'm with the dealer for a long time, from when they only sold Land Rover as well,
I am on friendly footing [ Dutch phrase no idea if it is translatable] with most people there.

I have been told if they order an F-Type now, they get the new model. So I think not the
'books' as such are closed, but the old model can no longer be custom made.

Now the BMW V8 comes in the new model, I doubt if there will be a V6 at all.
They just do what's common among the trade : downtune the V8 to say 400HP.

Its just more economically viable to do so then mount 3 or 4 different models of engine
and adapt all periferals to be able to do so.

That’s a good looking car @Dan but we could get a fully spec’d SVR for that here!

What is ‘BPM’? I don’t think I like that!

I am sticking with my order, several people tell me that Jaguar don’t have a good reputation for facelifts, each one being worse in some way than the earlier ones!

PhilB you are right, it seems crazy to stop selling a model without telling potential customers what the replacement will be!

Hi Gus,

I know. We are robbed blind to accomodate the grand sceme of the EU/UN to mix european countries with poor from
other continents to 'replenish' the workforce and the aging population.

To fund this they squeeze us dry. On of the reasons for BREXIT..

BPM = Belasting van Personenauto's en Motorrijtuigen... .. tax to be paid to register a ICE powered car or motorvehicle..
