Hi everyone! Glad to see so many people love this car.
I plan to buy a Jag(P380 AWD), but don't know which year it is gonna be. I don't like the new 2020 style, so I plan to buy slightly (10.000km or less) used Jag of 2018 or 2019 model year.
But the question is - is it worth to search 2018 one instead of 2019? As I know, 2019 supports Apple/Android auto and I really like it, but as well I heard people talk that 2019 model is significantly quieter and the exhaust is not so wild. I really want this insane exhaust which we love this Jag for, but Android auto would be good too. So Is 2019 exhaust is so different from 2018, that it would be better to buy 2018? And is there any way to use Android/Apple auto on 2018 model(without disassembling the infotainment system)? Also, maybe there is any major differences which will help me to choose?
If you have what to say about my case - please leave your reply, I appreciate it.
Thank you all and have a nice day!

I believe from September 2019 all new petrol cars had to have a PPF (petrol particulate filter) in or around the manifold section and this muffles the sound a little.

Wasn’t there a change over period in late 2017, known as MY18.5 that was a MY18 car but had the widescreen MY19 infotainment. That would for sure solve your issue. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

I was told the PPF was put in the catalytic converter housings but is ‘unmonitored’ so you can put an older type cat section in as a straight swap. Spoke to a V8 owner who had it done with no issues apparently.

Mine is a model year 18.5 build date November 2017 ,but does not have the widescreen although I actually prefer the buttons.

That sounds very promising, thanks :P

Do you know if this member is on the forum? Wanted to ask if the exhaust bits are interchangeable between the generations. Cheers.

I don't know if he is on the forum, I met him at the Jag event at Denbies earlier this year.

I have checked part numbers for the middle pipe sections on my (MY20) V6 P380 RWD and they are the same as for MY16 so the front pipe should be a straight swap. The AWD exhausts are diffent to the RWD ones though so be careful. I have also checked for O2 sensors etc and the sensors on my exhaust look to be the same as for earlier cars which means there should be no codes thrown up etc.

What I don't know is how the Exhaust Filter Blocked dash warnings are generated. The captions are shown in my Owners Guide but not what causes them to illuminate.

I was going to wait until my car is 3 years old and warranty expired before doing anything but have now got used to the sound of my car and it has got better as its got older, will see how it goes!

Hi!
Thank you and everyone for your reply!
So, if I understand you properly, the opportunity of using
Android/Apple car, let's say, depends on the screen? If it has a buttons - it's the old one without this thing, and if it has no buttons - it's the new version of infotainment system with Android/Apple auto?
