I do think Astons are beautiful, don't get me wrong, but the only one that really does it for me these days is the Vanquish. It's the only one I'd spend the money on... If I had it! LOL!

My brother in law had a 10 year old Vantage and it does sound awesome but I think even the modern Vantage looks a bit dated alongside the F-type. Especially the front lights.

Must admit the Vantage was on my very short list - but I'm 100% sure I made the right choice for a number of reasons,
Potential reliability costs, service & availability of specialists, It's looking a bit dated inside etc etc - The Aston is a very nice looking car, but the F Type is every bit it's equal and more......

Think that picture sums up the difference between them.

Astons are classic and beautiful but stuck in the past. They need a modern twist like jaguar did with the f.

Did Ian macallum not design the vantage as well as the F type?

I'm pretty sure Ian did the original Vanquish, the DB7's and the first of the DB9' before Jaguar ... I don't believe he did the AMV8
Storm Grey V6 coupe, fun, fast, popping and crackling with smiles all the way ... missed more than I expected!

C43 AMG estate, lots of toys, like the F-Type but with 4 seats and far more stealthy but still with pops and crackles!

I'm another one who always wanted an aston and was in the same boat as cj as above. I love the DB11 but like the slightly older shape astons like the Vanquish more. The F Type was a much better proposition at the moment but one day I might still own an aston (in my dreams!). I saw a DB11 pre release in the metal and it was gorgeous but I like my F Type more design wise.

I'd rather have the F-Type, but that said, Astons still pull on the heartstrings.

In my price range a 3 year old V8 Vantage was the only convertible Aston option. A friend recently traded out of his and said the servicing and running costs were a little hard to take even though he had no other major builds. I like the idea of an Aston but not the bills that might go with it. A DB11 would be in warranty but at that price you could buy an F-type coupe and convertible. Or a Huracan, McClaren 570S etc.

But I might have to scratch that Aston itch at some point.

First of all, the seat pattern in the Aston is a deal breaker. Stop right there. Its not my style.

My nephew and I attended a car show. We saw the Audi R8, that Mercedes something or other, and the Aston among others in that class. They were all roped off. There was a FType Coupe that was open to the public to sit in and enjoy the tactile delights. It was worth the wait in line.

After walking around and viewing many more cars he asked me, "Kevin, if cost were no object, what would you have?" I thought long and hard and replied "the FType." It doesn't have to be the most expensive car. He agreed.

For the cost of the DB11, I can have both the coupe and the roadster  . That in itself is a hard choice.
