As a lucky employee of JLR in Solihull, I get access to a management car scheme, which sees us replace our company cars every 9-12 months or so.
Today I swapped my faithful, 20k mile, completely reliable and faultless E Pace, for a Velar! The E Pace has been one hell of a car, 47 mpg average, comfy for long journeys into Europe, spacious enough (just!) for skiing kit and suitcases for 4, with skis in a roof box. Only minor niggles were a few tizzes and click that I wouldn’t have expected from a car just under a year old. Will probably have another one at some point.
But what a step up the Velar is.. the extra £20k in value really shows up when you drive the car and the feeling of superiority (shouldn’t admit that..should I..?) when driving it is rather enticing. Have all the bells and whistles on here other than the V6 Diesel engine (was restricted to the D240).
No real purpose to this post other than showing off a new toy and even better, I get to collect my F Type (personal car!) up from the dealer tomorrow after £5k’s worth of corrosion repair work!
Have a great weekend all!
Swapped my E Pace for a Velar today!
Congrats - enjoy the upgrade!

Nice photos of both cars, all Range Rovers are gorgeous in my opinion and I’ve been keeping an eye on the Velar for the wife as we also need a practical 4 door, all the YouTube Velar reviews seem positive on styling, comfort and build quality so I’m quite tempted, my wish list would be a 3.0 petrol V6 Autobiography in silver with Ivory leather, I’ve seen a couple advertised but not driven one yet and will probably wait till September until after we do the NC500 in the F Type.

Thanks all. Kaspa, congrats. The evoque has always been a great place to sit, enjoy your new purchase. Classy spec too!
Totally agree Jagman, I’m a bit astonished how much more upmarket the Velar feels compared to my old E Pace. Top spec HSE just comes with so many toys it’s hard to find fault with it really. Can’t tell you too much about driving as I’ve only done 130 miles in it, other than comfort and refinement are superb. The Diesel engine I’ve got is a little louder than I’d expect on start up, but is very quiet when driving. The P380 version is silky smooth as you’d expect, just has a rather large thirst!

Very nice. Looks great spec.
Be careful with the perforated leather seats. I have light inserts and they pick up colour too easily..
Btw. Is it 250bhp? I thought the petrol and diesel HSE both ran at 240bhp (237)

The petrol was the Pre-Ingenium (Ford) 4 pot the Si 4 ?
The new one that has just come out now has the Ingenium petrols including a P300.
Hello Yes my mistake .. is the 240 (237) its a 2019 model year (68 plate) which has the Ingenium engine not the old Ford unitPhilB wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 10:22 amI thought the same.cj10jeeper wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 10:01 am Btw.
