So with the introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone I thought I'd run a check and see how it affected my cars - just on the off-chance I was ever silly enough to want to drive in to London.
The results were not quite as I'd expected...
3 cylinder 1 litre Toyota Aygo
67bhp - 107g/km CO2 - £20 road tax - Euro 4...
V8 4.7 litre A-code Ford Mustang
225bhp - where's the chimney sweep CO2 - £0 road tax - Good old US of A, none of your Euro sh1t...
V6 3.0 litre supercharged Jaguar F-Type
340bhp - 199 g/km CO2 - £325 road tax - Euro 6...
Additionally the Aygo churns out a terrible 1.6g/km per bhp, whereas the planet saving F-Type only produces 0.6g/km.
This clearly and objectively makes it the best car to use for a drive in to London.
I rest my case!
...and no, you don't get a prize for guessing which car my wife drives!
