I've considered my car as an investment from the day I bought it.

It's the only car I've owned that hasn't lost any value which seems to be holding/increasing :D

The F Type is the last of a dying breed.
There comes a point when just owning that last bit of motoring history is enough.
Lots of vloggers are now saying the same.
Jeremy Clarkson openly said he wont go electric.
Were it not for the Cayan and Macan Porsche would have axed the 911 a decade ago
Nice to see the F type sharing the platform with the E Type

I predicted a couple of months a go on this very forum that the F type will not be in production for much longer due to a JLR change of direction. Additionally I have maintained that all our cars will be modern classics sooner than expected. I predict 15yrs of ownership will see your car start to raise in value. 3 yrs in all is good 12 yrs to go, my 400 is a longer term keeper.

Can you imagine a battery XJ?? It would have it's own gravitational pull!

FWIW - I specced a new F-Type to the same or very similar spec to our current one.
It would cost me an added 22K!.....I know it's not real appreciation, but they are charged out at a lot more now ;-)

P7's never really (surprisingly) seem to have gone up in value (I use that model as a gauge) and I don't see anything happening for the lesser F-Types for a long time.

Putting my ''Mystic Meg'' head on: V6 Manuals if they last ,will be strong, plus V8 S's and R's in RWD format next, and 400's thereafter.

Anyway, who cares...I'm not bubble wrapping mine, just detailing it to death and showing maybe - I'll be 6' under with very bald tyres before they realise any profit.

Replace the tyres and you'll stay above ground a bit longer!

That's OK, I'd have a larger smiley with balder tyres!

Bolloré is a frog with a mission. Renault made a loss of 141 million in 2019, he was kicked out after that. He worked on a joint venture with Dong Feng, a Chinese EV producer. The XJ was badly needed to reduce to overall carbon footprint of JLR now the I-Pace sales are sluggish. They are still bound to the EU regulations and a massive fine is due if nothing happens.

Getting Bolloré into JLR is like buying a Trojan horse without checking its content. The man has a multilayered agenda and we will only know when its too late.

The XJ-platform was to be used for XE / XF / XJ replacements and the new I-Pace. There were over a thousand pre-orders in China only. Why write of a billion investment if the product is on the brink of introduction ?

Something smells bad here, and I guess it tastes French also. Hopefully the board wakes up and kicks him out before its too late.

Looking on AutoTrader, the prices on mine are now approx the same or higher than what I paid two years ago.

No other car I’ve owned has been able to match that :D
