I've moved this to the off-topic section where you should have posted it in the first place.

Quite liked the series at the time, although it never was hugely popular and expensive to buy with depreciation like falling masonry. F type is much more glamorous.

They became bargains like a lot of high end German stuff, when the mpg and parts put a lot of people off (mate at work had a 10 year old Merc CL500 at the time best offer was £500, couldn't even give it away). There were a lot of scabby 8 series's bought by people as a cheap car and neglected not that long ago. Mike Brewer and Ed China did an episode looking for a car that wasn't a money pit. Watch for engine wear and if there's diff noise a replacement rear pinion can be hard to source.

Nice car, but I'd go for a 6 series or the 3.0 CS if I had an itch for a BMW

I was on about 2018 models onwards. Lose a lot as said so 50k gets you a lot of car and a lot of kit still under warranty.
Personally too big for me especially when you factor in it’s cramped space

The looks of the new version 8 series do nothing for me, especially side on which just doesn't look right. If I needed more space I would have an Alfa Julia Quadraformaggio no question.
