Handbook says normal unleaded is fine. However, you might consider a tank of 'super' occasionally, if you plan on keeping the car long term, as some cars have had fouling on injectors. The theory is, that the premium fuels contain more detergents to combat it.

My Abarth threw an emissions code recently, with a fouled O2 sensor. Service desk said it wasn't getting hot enough and would benefit from an 'italian tune up' periodically (honest officer I'm only following manufacturers advice πŸ˜‰)

Wouldn't mind an electric car for ordinary use Visit to our daughter is 140 miles each way, though. So it doesn't really work for things like that yet.

The cars themselves are OK, it's just the range and charging that needs to evolve a bit for me. I think it was Evo magazine that hit the nail on the head. Too often electric charge points are out of action or have a convoluted payment method. It needs to be like petrol, where the pumps are never out of action and you just swipe your card to pay.

Have several fuel cards for different fuel stations but its still daft money . Agree that electric is looking mighty useful and cheap at around Β£15 a fill , so its looking like this is our next purchase on a trade in with the wife's car !

Compared to the above I "only" got 37mpg on the drive back at the legal limit, but how many other cars with similar performance will easily achieve that?
It's very impressive really.

In my experience the price difference between super and normal is cancelled out by the difference in mpg.
