Hi all,

As with most low slung cars, the F seems to suffer with stone chips quite badly, or at least the ones I looked at did.

My questions is, has anyone had a clear film protector fitted? Are they any good or a waste of money?

Cheers

Nick

I got my first stone chip on the front after 700 miles so I had the front, the seals and part of the back covered with X Pel film. Just over 5000 miles now and no more chips.

Thanks for the replies gents.

Do you have to follow a certain wash routine or just wash as normal? How much did it cost roughly?

Does anyone know a good installer in and around Hampshire?

Contact Auto Curators again. If they don't do it, they will point you in the right direction.

I used Covertech in Birmingham.

Depends on what you get covered to cost - they will give you a quote pretty quickly.

Washing is the same except you just need to be less vigorous around the edges of the film for obvious reasons.

Mine has been on 3 years and is wearing well.

Yep, they attract gravel rash like the preverbal wind unfortunately!

PPF is an expensive, but IMO brilliant investment - that's if you intend to keep your Jag.

We had the whole car done, including all the edges and lips covered with at least a 10mm overlap. Xpel is the best if you can stump up the dollar.

You can use Pledge or anything similar as a QD, but I went the whole hog and got the proper Xpel liquid.

Been on since new (2 years), and dings just 'flow' away with the heat of a hairdryer.

With PPF , you get what you pay for. Try Wombat Wrapping...quite a long way for us, but worth it.
