My painted gyrodyne wheels are starting to look a little bit jaded and I will get them refurbished. Some minor flaking paint and some tiny stone chip touch-ups that can be seen if you look carefully. Although they started life diamond cut, when I bought the car they were very curbed, so the dealer painted them to my request, satin black all over. I want the same look again.

First thought is powder coated by a decent wheel refurbisher, such as Platinum Alloys in Swindon, or Pro Alloys in Melksham. The downside is, I believe, if I get a stone chip, powder coated cannot be touched up, needing another full refurb?
Or a cheaper job to have them repainted, which is presumably not as durable, but could be touched up.

What experiences have you had with either method or the places I mention? Any others in the same area?

Have had 2 sets of wheels powder coated by ‘thewheelspecialist’ in Fareham and the results were really good, better than the original paint. They didn’t get any chips or other damage whilst I still had them.

When my gyrodynes need attention I will be getting them powder coated.
