I'd be more concerned about the insurance implications, as this would seem to be a modification to the vehicle. Has anyone discussed this with their insurance company?

Yes I will post side picture after cleaning the car over the weekend. Yes will fit your V8 if you have 20 inch wheels (lots of people use the bigger tyre size) I'm not worried about the insurance issue at all.
