V6S polished and waxed

Im going to order a Carnauba wax for the first time and my question is what recommended product should I use to prepare before I apply the wax?

Simply water and an auto shampoo.

Normally there is no special prep for waxing, although it does depend on the condition of the paint prior to application. The thing I like about the wax I use, it is applied by bare hands, so no wastage.

I've managed to get access to a car lift so I will try out this anti-corrosion spray and do the complete underside of the car. Sometime in the next two weeks....Fingers crossed the gritters won't be out before I do the deed.

Cool - take a handful of old blankets and cover everything. Overspray is s nightmare! I also used old towels pushed into the wheels to stop overspray when I did around the hubs. It all washed out fine.

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to do the job?
I assume that the surfaces need to be as clean and dry as possible for the stuff to stay on and last.
Did you power wash the underside or just lift and spray?

Couple of hours, but I gave it at many coats and was spraying into every little place I could get to.

Mine was brand spankers when I did it. If you need to clean beforehand then just make sure it's dry as a bone.

Top tip: It's also worth putting the can in a bowl of very hot water first to thin it up.

Ooo....That's a clean bottom! :-)

I'ts interesting to see typically what i'm going to be up against when mine eventually gets lifted....which looks like it's going to be next Monday morning, weather permitting. If that fails then it might have to be the following week as i'm off to Sweden on the Tuesday.
