I just made the holes a little smaller than the fixed screws, dropped the plastic inserts/plugs, and just pushed the screws/unit in place. The material in the fotwell "grips" the screws well enough to keep the fotrest in place.

I did this more than a year ago and not experienced any problems

Everything arrived today, along with the all important instructions- 3 holes @ 7mm diameter x 15mm deep.
