Hi Idris, you might want to try disconnecting the Battery for 20 minutes, when you reconnect it will probably make the roof go up and lock normally. I am not suggesting it will fix any underlying issue.

If the issue remains you need to take to a specialist/dealer, my fix was to fit new motors JTR16883 X 2 for each side, and JTR2059. I have been told the motors syncronize (Talk to each other) so having replaced each side and the locking motor the system now works as it should.

I hope you have warranty as it's expensive to diagnose in labour costs, after which any parts will cost alot. My original bill was over 850 quid with dealer goodwill contribution. The actual booked hours for the dealership was over £3500. (Yes you read that correctly)
Hope your experience is not as bad as mine

Yeah it's still under warranty, im hoping a new motor and reset will see me on my way, it sounded like Brentwood had some familiarity with the issue when I called.

Much to my suprise it really was the latch + water damage problems to a motor. Now back home and seems fine so far. Total booked hours and materials was £2400, as others have mentioned the whole thing comes out and back in. Note of warning that the warranty declined the motor replacement originally as seals related, but Jag agreed to meet me halfway on it - expecting to end up paying around £700 as they should be covering the latch. Brentwood have been pretty good at handling the negotiations with jaguar, and although they do need some chasing up the service has been overall very good, they even gave me a new key as my old one was falling apart :) Would recommend them if anyone east London/Essex is having issues. Will let you all know if it recurs. Jess

Also the warranty folks were good, the initial roadside service, courtesy car and phone calls were better than I expected, as was my brief chat with the jaguar customer service centre. Reassuring after some of the horror stories you hear.
