Hi Everyone

I have had an engine failure after just 11,000 miles on a 2 1/2 year old R AWD.

It started making a clattering sound and now won't start. The dealer said it is the engine. The short time frame is worrying

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Fortunately not.

Was the oil changed at a dealership and what was the levels like?
Reason I ask, if you head over to the US forums there was one other owner that had engine issues that may have been down to the dealer and/or oil change procedures.

A bit strange that this is his first and only post so far, with no more response in almost a week?

Hi everyone, I'm not a troll, at least not since I last looked in the mirror!

The car is in a dealership and Jaguar are currently trying to get out of replacing the engine. It's very sad that the manufacturer of a £97,000 car are trying to get out of a fault such as this. I will keep you updated as to their final response.

What’s their reason for denying you an engine under warranty?

My apologies too.

Looking forward to hear more of what caused this, and what respons JLR has to this.

Exactly what I would like to know .. the car is under manufacturer's full warranty and assuming full service history .. so what would be the problem

unless we have mods or tunes / mapping etc :?:
