Hi,

I am trying to find a decent used manual F-Type V6 (as a replacement for a TVR Griffith) and finally got to drive one. I noticed that the clutch engagement was only about 3 inches off the floor which made it hard to get a decent gear change. There was also a huge amount of free travel before the clutch actually started to disengage. As manuals are so rare at dealers it is hard to know whether this is normal.

Are there any manual F-Type owners out here who could comment?

Cheers!

Hi not a manual owner but I do understand that the clutches wear at an alarming rate!

You may want a new one thrown in with the deal.

As manuals are rare you need to compromise if looking for one and be prepared to change clutches on a fairly regular basis.

My V6S coupe has done 11,000 miles since September 2015 (when it was new). The clutch is fine (engages etc. normally) and gear change loosened up after the first few thousand miles. There is much correspondence about manual F-Type clutches on the US forum. Daft comment, but wear rate depends on how the car is driven: I guess it doesn't take kindly to too many rapid get-aways!
