Hi all
After a year and 3 months of ownership. I decided to try to jack the car up using the near side rear jacking point and a trolley jack.
All was OK until the car was almost off the ground, when the car locked itself and the burglar alarm started sounding!
Can anyone suggest what I did wrong?
Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

This is the tilt alarm mate.

You need to unlock the car
Open the door
Close the door

The car will then be ready to tilt. (Jack)

(Ensure handles are out and auto lock is disabled by opening and closing the door before jacking)

Could have been worse - you could have bent your supposed 1 tonne Halfords jack like i did.

...queue mad scramble to get the (ooh aren't they heavy when you're in a hurry!) rear wheel back on!
