Engine will not rev above 3,500rpm

After owning my 2015 V6 S auto for 2 years I put it into neutral and reved the engine but at 3,000 rpm it spluttered up to 3,500 rpm if I push the accelerator pedal further nothing happens. I took the car for a run and it revs freely above 4,500 rpm with no misfire I went straight to the Jaguar garage as it is still under warranty, it is booked in for a health check but was wondering if there is something in the engine software to stop over review when stationary or someone has also experienced this issue. Hopefully will get me to simply Jaguar on Sunday from Worcestershire.

You cant rev the engine over 4k in neutral - car wont let you. It's normal.

Yep, useful for passing noise tests too as it just won't go up into the super loud zone.

I had mine serviced last month and I can definitely confirm the car doesn't pop anymore above 3,000 rpm. To me that's a major problem and I intent to get it fixed
