Hi all, I've recently got my F Type.
The car having done a few miles has a grubby start/stop button & despite trying various cleaners, it's still grubby & the paint surface is getting damaged.
Has anyone had experience in replacing the button?
Is it a big job, having the whole assembly replaced or can the button just be flicked out & new one fitted?

Easy job. Just one piece of trim and the button pops out as a direct replacement consisting of the button and surrounding trim ring
I changed from the Amber to black and silver

I remember a thread about this on the american f-type (x152) forum. Find it and search for the thread entitled "Source for new Start button and paddle shifters".

Includes handy hints on how to do it.

Try the you tube link below. if it fails, type in - F Type replace start stop switch - and it should bring up a 4 minute video on how to pop open the trim and replace the switch. Looks really easy.

I changed mine without removing the trim, I just pulled the switch out using dental floss.

That's an interesting approach - may give it a try!
Have priced up a new button from the local dealer & was surprised that it is only about £22. Seems cheap for a Jaguar part.

Do they do an aluminium one to match the aluminium paddles?

My paddles are bronze. - possibly because it's an S?
Haven't seen any others to compare.

Aluminium Paddles were an option on V6 and V6S - i think they are standard on an R?
