Hi, this is the first car I've had with TPMS so I'm interested to know what happens when replacing tyres. Does the valve stay in place or does the fitter remove and refit? I notice the manual says "at each tyre change a special service kit is required". Do the tyre fitters have these, or do I have to get them from a dealer? And if I change the wheel, can the TPMS valve be transferred from old to new?
TIA,
Steve
TPMS Questions
I've never heard of the service kit. I came to my F Type from a Range Rover and it had TPMS. Never had to do anything other than change the tyre. Just be sure to mention them to the tyre fitters so they can break the bead well away from the valve. Mine is a 2013 3.0S and I'm not sure if it has TPMS so perhaps someone who knows better can let me know if it was standard back then as there's no mention of mine having it added on the options added to mine when built

As has been said, make sure the fitter knows it has TPMS (most will know anyway) so they can be careful.
The sensor doesn't need to be disturbed at all.
I have had a few tyres changed with TPMS and it's just the same as normal.
The difference is they don't pop in a new valve and stem as it's part of the sensor.
The service kits I've seen are basically a new locking nut and grommet, schrader valve and cap.
Fine if the sensor has been removed but if not then it doesn't need most of it.
Often they charge extra for these kits when in fact my fitter just changes the schrader valve in the stem and they cost pence.

It's very easy for you and the fitter to know a tyre has TPMS as fitted the valve has a metal stem bolted to the rim and without a standard flexible rubber valve.
If a fitter can't spot the difference from 2 metres away then you should go elsewhere
